This guide walks you through transferring your domain name's registration from Tieriun to another registrar.
Before You Start
Keep the following in mind before transferring your domain away from Tieriun:
- Your account must be current on payments and in good standing. Tieriun reserves the right to fully reject any domain transfer request received while the account is past due or not in good standing.
- The domain must be at least 60 days past its initial registration or the last time it was transferred, either to or from Tieriun (standard ICANN requirement), unless ICANN issues a ruling stating otherwise.
- The receiving registrar must support your domain's TLD.
Steps to Transfer Your Domain Away from Tieriun
- Disable domain privacy (if enabled) from the Control Center™ so the domain's contact information can be verified by the new registrar.
- Unlock the domain from the Control Center™ by disabling Transfer Lock, if applicable.
- Request the domain's authorization code (EPP code) from the Control Center™. If you can't find this option or need assistance, open a support ticket requesting the EPP code for the domain.
- Make sure the email address on file for the administrative contact or registrant is active and up to date, since a transfer confirmation request will be sent to that address during the process.
- Start the transfer request from your new registrar's control panel, entering the domain name and the EPP code you obtained in Step 3.
- Approve the transfer confirmation when you receive it by email. You must respond within the stated timeframe, or the request may expire.
- Wait for the transfer to complete. The time needed to complete a transfer away from Tieriun varies depending on several factors, including the receiving registrar and how quickly the approval is processed.
Important Notes
- It's your responsibility to promptly address any issues that come up during the transfer to make sure it completes successfully.
- If your account is past due or suspended, you won't be able to transfer any domain until that's resolved.
- Once the transfer is complete, the domain will no longer be associated with your Tieriun account, and any further management (DNS, email, hosting, etc.) will need to be handled with your new registrar or provider.
If you need your EPP code, are having trouble unlocking the domain, or the transfer isn't moving forward, open a support ticket from the Control Center™ and our team will be happy to help.
